That philosophy has guided the development of our All-in-One (AIO) heat pump systems. We are proud to announce a significant milestone: select models and configurations of the Ephoca AIO series have achieved third-party certifications and listings across US, Canada and intentional standard bodies.
The AIO, or “All-In-One,” combines heating, cooling, ventilation, and clean air management in one compact system. AIO features a high-efficiency inverter heat pump, advanced ERV, MERV 13 filtration, and bathroom exhaust fan.
Engineering First
Many manufacturers design products first and treat certifications as an afterthought or a marketing tool. We take the opposite approach.
Our engineering teams designed our AIO systems specifically to meet the exacting standards that govern real-world HVAC testing. We wanted to ensure our systems deliver documented compliance across varying climates, building types, and regulatory frameworks.
Here is what that means for your next project:
- AHRI Certified®: AHRI is a globally recognized and an industry respected certification program. AHRI certification verifies that Ephoca systems meet recognized testing standards and that their published performance ratings are reproducible, verifiable, and compliant.
- Passive House Institute (PHI) Component: Our Vertical Stack and Ceiling-Ducted units are officially certified for thermal efficiency, air-tightness, and ventilation performance, supporting projects pursuing strict Passive House standards.
- ENERGY STAR®: The benchmark for efficiency. For developers and owners, this translates to measurable reductions in energy consumption, lowered operating costs, and streamlined compliance with modern building codes.
- NEEP Cold Climate Listing: Proven winter reliability. For electrification projects in colder regions across the U.S. and Canada, inclusion in the NEEP database proves our systems maintain high-efficiency heating even when outdoor temperatures plummet.
- ETL / Intertek Certification: ETL verifies that our systems meet rigorous electrical safety and code compliance standards – an essential requirement for All-in-One installed heat pump systems.
Rethinking HVAC
If you are new to the AIO system, here is what you need to know:
AIO eliminates the need for traditional outdoor condensers, combining heating, cooling, and ventilation into a single, concealed indoor unit.
The result? Easy to engineer and install. We design every component of the AIO with efficiency in mind. Ultra-quiet, high-efficiency comfort featuring a built-in Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) for continuous fresh air, without compromising a building’s façade. Many AIO units feature a sleek, compact paintable cabinet, to coordinate with any interior.
Designing a new multi-family high-rise, a hospitality project, or executing a deep energy retrofit where exterior equipment is architecturally or logistically unfeasible? AIO is the answer. It is available in wall-mounted, floor-standing, vertical stack, and ceiling-integrated configurations.
Building for an Electrified Future
As energy codes grow stricter, transparency is no longer optional. By pursuing independent testing across multiple regulatory bodies, our goal is to systematically mitigate risk for the entire project team. Verified data protects the specifying engineer, the installing contractor, and the owner managing long-term operational reliability.
For us, these certifications are more than just badges on a spec sheet. They represent Ephoca’s core commitment to the industry: building HVAC systems that stand up to the highest levels of scrutiny. This commitment to proof over promises is also why we launched the $1,000,000 Copycat Challenge. In a market where performance data claims circulate without certified verification, Ephoca believes HVAC systems should be judged by proof. That’s why we engineered the AIO platform meet that standard – ensuring that every published specification can be backed by accredited testing and transparent certification.
